Here is the assignment!
Since Next Tuesday is Veterans Day, I thought it would be nice to salute our Veterans and show our appreciation. Photo requirement of something patriotic.
“A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America ‘ for an amount of ‘up to and including my life”
I got this from the monthly newsletter we receive from our unit. I appreciate everyone who at some point in their life wrote the blank check…and especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. God bless you, and God bless your families, who too have made a huge sacrifice.
I will just share one of my favorite pictures.
One of the experiences (among many others) that gave me culture shock when I moved to the US was free food at Sam’s Club. I could not believe that one could almost have lunch at Sam’s club by just walking around and tasting the samples, from Chicken to dessert. I wondered how these people make their monies plus pay the person serving you the samples. So, friday, I realized that this kind of marketing actually works. I went in to buy Diapers and Trash can bags and ended up with one of those Take N Bake 16 inch pizzas. I tasted a sample and just found myself buying one, not sure how that happened. Has that ever happened to you? I must say, it was very tasty.
Today our Church had a carnival to support the Parents Day Out program that was started in September this year. If you are looking for a very affordable Parents Day Out for your toddler, check this one out. It meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. I think Rehema had a great time.
I think Henry didn’t mind it at all.
It’s that time again in our company, when we have to make a decision which health plan to go with. This year it was easy, I knew I was going to have the baby, so I went with the higher premium, lower copays plan and it paid off. 2009, the high deductible plan is really looking like the way to go. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…
You know the way you go to the dentist for one filling and emerge with a dozen follow up appointments, well, that happened to me, I even managed to get a referral to a dental surgeon in the process. So I went to see this Surgeon because my dentist recommended that I should have one of my teeth extracted. I waited for 1.5 hours and then the dental surgeon saw me for all of 30 seconds and then I now need to come back for the surgery. I am just too scared. I was asked if I wanted local or general anesthesia and of course I chose local. I am such a coward, and I fear anything to do with hospitals/doctors like the plague. He was making the general anesthesia option sound so good but I was not interested. You know, he was saying that you just sleep and see and feel nothing, I don’t know about that.

I’m relatively new to blogging, & I’m sure this has come up before, but I’d really like to know WHY you blog. Tell me how you got started or why you got started and why you keep it up. Plus there’s a photo requirement: Post a picture of the one person/place/thing that most symbolizes the town or area where you live.
I started blogging in October 2005 and basically my blog was about family. It is basically about life away from home. I was not a frequent blogger then and it was hard for me to figure out stuff under what Chattablogs was using (MovableType) So, in April 2006, I moved to WordPress, that only last for one day, went back to Chattablogs for awhile then finally moved to WordPress in July 2008 and I have been here ever since and I love it.
Chattanooga is the scenic city and is known for many things. This photo has the Tennessee River. On the right, the building with triangle roofing is the our lovely Aquarium and the farthest bridge is the walking bridge which I believe is the longest walking bridge in the world. Can you believe that when we were in high school we had to learn and memorize about the Tennessee Valley Authority, yep, that is in Chattanooga.
