Weight Watchers Week 3

This week I had a meeting during lunch so I was not able to attend the WW meeting, but I still went and weighed in.  I lost .8 pounds which brings my total weight loss to a grand total of 1.4 pounds.  “Kidogo Kidogo hujaza kibaba”  I am not complaining, just taking it one week at a time.

Fun Monday

Welcome to Fun Monday! Thanks for participating. Fun Monday next week it is hosted by Aojthelurchers.   Make sure to stop by there sometime this week for your assignment.  If by any chance I have missed someone, I apologize in advance.  I am only able to update in the evenings  and will update.  The participants this week are listed on the left of my blog.

Many people make resolutions during the month of January and they usually include diets/eating healthy/losing weight and all that good stuff.    I myself decided to try the Weight Watchers this time round.  My assignment is to tell us about a diet or two (Atkins, Sonoma, Weight Watchers, South Beach, the You on a Diet, Best Life, The Abs Diet, The Zone, Cabbage Soup, E-Diets, Dr Phil, Jenny Craig, The Mediterranean Diet, Nutrisystem, Slim-Fast, Suzzane Sommers or No Name diet etc etc) that you have tried and what you liked or did not like about it.    You can tell us about one diet that you had so much success with, or another that was a torture to follow or both.
AND/OR
Photo assignment: post a photo of something/someone that makes you feel good about yourself. It could be your loved one, your pet, your part of the world, anything goes.

The first diet I tried is called the Sonoma Diet.  I tried it a few months after I had Rehema.  It has 3 waves and in the first wave you are supposed to lose a lot of pounds, which I did (5 pounds).  During the first wave, you are supposed to eat at least 1/2 cup of beans everyday among other things.   The diet only lasted 2 weeks for me and the pounds came back with a vengeance.  I flirted with Atkins but never tried it, I do not think I could live my life without carbs…but everyone is different.  I did not study on it however so I am not sure about all the details.  After I had Henry, I decided to try the Abs Diet, even bought the book.  It is based on a power foods menu and once a week you can indulge and eat what you want.    Not sure why I could not stick to it. Finally, I joined Weight Watchers.   I think the weekly meetings and weigh ins make a HUGE difference.  I also like it that you can eat anything you want, you just have to be within your points and as someone said on their blog, you can always go back to it when you need it.  I have registered for 12 weeks and I am hopeful that I will make progress.

These two kids make me so happy!!!

Weight Watchers Week 2

I went for week 2 of weight watchers and just like my boss predicted, there were only 6 of us. There were more than 20 last week. Well, maybe there are going to other locations, you can go to any location within 100 miles. I had lost .6 pounds, I was glad that I had lost something, but I am staying away from rich desserts. and the journey continues…

Fun Monday

I apologize, I am super late!  slept early yesterday and was still getting the kids ready for daycare, it’s a holiday for me but since the daycare is open, thought it would be a good idea to have some time to myself today.  Fun Monday today is hosted by Julie.  Here is her assignment:  This week is the 2nd Anniversary of Fun Monday.  Fun Monday began by everyone showing photos of their view out their front door.  For the 1st Anniversary, we did it again.  This time I wanted to change it up a bit.  I asked everyone to take a photo from their front door facing the interior of their home instead of the exterior

When you stand at my door you will see two things:

I love this small window.
Head over to Julie and see what’s inside people’s homes. And yes, you read right, I am hosting for January 26th, I will have the topic ready on Wednesday and it will be super easy.

Weight Watchers Part 2

Thursday I went for my first Weight Watchers (WW) meeting at work.  There were so many people, in fact so many people have registered for it this time, they have added two classes.  My welcome came when one of my workmates shouted to me, “what are you doing here?” Well, thanks, I suddenly felt thin.  I just smiled and told her, I need to lose a few pounds or so.  Now I was all embarrassed.  Then a few people who did not look like they need to lose any weight came in,  then I was okay with being there.   The facilitator seems nice, she had her ‘before’ pictures and she was interesting.    The WW point system seems daunting and tedious, but I am beginning to like it, though I did not like it very much when my dessert weighed in at 24 points (Since I am nursing, my allowed points are 28 per day).   But you get 35 points per week, so there goes my 35 points, and if you work out, you get to earn some points.   I think WW is going to get me where I need to be.

Weight Watchers

I am joining Weight Watchers! at work. My employers gives us money to do such kind of things and since I still had some monies, I decided to join and spend the monies.      It is just for 12 weeks, I believe that is enough time to lose th0se last lingering pounds.
