On Saturday I decided to attempt the cabbage soup diet.  I made my soup on Friday night, and on Saturday it was all settled and yummy.   Day one went well without any mishaps, you can indulge in as much fruit as you would like.  Day two, was a veggies only day.  I so wanted my sugar so badly…started having slight headaches.  My soup was gone am.   Red pepper has never tasted so good!   In the evening, you can have a baked potato complete with butter!  Well, I am not such a big fan of butter so I had mine with ff sour cream.  Monday morning, I was feeling so good, woke up early and at 7.30 I was at the foot of Barton Avenue lining up to register for the Chattanooga Chase 8K.  Wow – what a course! if you are training for a half-marathon, that is the course to train on.  As soon as we took off, I told myself, this is a HUGE mistake.  At one point, we were looking at Chattanooga downtown from up somewhere, it has so many hills.  I heard someone say, it is going to be “50 minutes of sheer fun” and with James Taylor singing about Carolina and Sweet Baby James, I found my way to the finish line!  Aluta Continua!!

  1. Wow – I wonder if cabbage has a detoxing effect? I’m glad it made you feel so energized. I’d be curious to know if that continues throughout the week. Congratulations on your run!
