I am an optimist, I think everything happens for a reason and everything will work out in the end for your good. I try to look at the glass as half full though at times I am not sure whether it is half full or half empty.
Yay…Bachelor goes to Africa next week!! I know this does not affect your life in any way…
What a week – sick kids, ‘new’ battery not working, lots of homework, no saturday run, I am so ready for a new week. The kids seems to be doing better, the car sounds good and I am done with half the homework, at least the part that is due today. The half-marathon is at the end of February and I need to train harder. I hope you have a great week.
P/S I have been looking for a picture of Hank to post but I cannot find one. We will miss him.
One piece of technology that I cannot live without is my phone. I need my phone so that my family can reach me or I can reach someone should I need help. I go running with my phone 🙂 I do not have a fancy phone but it is indeed my lifeline.
Update: Hubby took the car to Walmart and they replaced the battery for free!!!
This is such a timely topic. Walmart… Less than two years ago, we went in and bought a Car battery, last night I went and picked up the prescription for my child, when I came out, the car was dead. I am so mad at Walmart, how can a car battery last less than 2 years! 1001 reason not to shop at walmart!
Here is something I read about anger yesterday:
“Of the seven deadly sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savor to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back – in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you. ” Frederick Buechner
Don’t let the sun go down on your anger…
The day was going okay until I got the phone call to go and pick up the chid because she had a fever of 100.3. I picked her up and took her to the minute clinic. The NP told me she cannot treat her because she has a fever of 100.3. Off I went to the next after hours doctor who was a Nurse Practitioner too. She basically did the same stuff the first one did and prescribed some antibiotics. Took the child home and headed for the pharmacy, left the pharmacy and car dead! It would not start. Hubby and kids came, we tried to jump start the car but it would not start. Went into Autozone and this sweet lady said she could come and charge the battery for us. Wow, she was a God send. Car started, reached home and would not start again…yes, that was my day. I hope you had a great day!
After I graduated from college , I stopped by a friends office and she told me that her boss was looking for a part-time typist. Well, I needed a job so badly, but there was a problem…I could not type fast. I put in my application nevertheless, and was scheduled for an interview. Meanwhile, I went and looked for my mom’s manual typewriter and her typing text book…and it was asdf…asdf…asdf…all night. I had two nights to learn how to type. Saturday came and I did the typing test and guess what? I got the job!!!
Fast forward… it sucks when you are disqualified from an interview because you typed 59 words per minute, they were looking for 60 words per minute…
