I just came back from shopping for Thanksgiving and it was cra-a-zy! My plan was to go to the deli of the store and order one of those deals they have been advertising. You pay so much money, and you get a cooked Turkey, sides and you can add a desert for a few more dollars. Sounded perfect! right? All I needed to do is warm it and we are good to go! Went to the deli, the person in charge came with his pen and paper and a list of options they have. So I asked him, how long do I have to wait when I place my order? He says, not very long. This is getting good! Then the truth comes out, he says, we in fact do not cook the Turkey, we just give you the stuff and you go cook it at home. Sir, for half the price, I can go and pick the stuff from the store and cook it myself. Too funny!!! So I ended up, running up and down the store (I have never been to this store before so I had no idea where anything was) saying excuse me like 20 times and finally, I checked out and butterball, here I come!
Baby girl has been asking for Mandazi for the longest time, so I decided to surprise her and make some. Measured the flour, added the sugar and discovered that I do not have any baking powder. There is no way you can make Mandazi without baking powder and there is no way I was going back to that madness! Sila was nice enough to go get some, yummy! Mandazi na Chai, here I come! Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Tomorrow marks my 40 days to 40! yeah, I am getting old (thanks Ones who thought I was old @ 25!). Is there any thing you have always wanted to do before you were 40? Please leave a comment here or in facebook and I will challenge myself to attempt some of those feats. Maybe I have accomplished some already!!
Just as I thought, another neighborhood wants in…they want to be zoned for Normal Park. The residents of One North Shore condos want to be included too. They are currently zoned for another magnet school), this NPMM zoning issue gets interesting by the day. There are other great magnet schools in Chattanooga, with committed faculty, disciplined students and great parents and community involvement…I am just saying!
I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week! Under normal circumstances, I would have already bought the Turkey but this year, I will have to wait until last minute to buy the Turkey. Sila does not care for one, Henry has no opinion but Rehema wants me to buy one! Have you ever had Thanksgiving without a Turkey?
I cannot believe that I watch X-Factor over Survivor, makes for interesting TV when Simon bashes the other judges when they say something bad about his contestants and yet he trashes their contestants. I do think though that one of Simon’s mentees will win, I personally like Melanie Amaro! I was so glad when Simon gave her a second chance. Do you watch it any?
Rehema’s impression of the guests!
We just spent an awesome evening with Sam and Bonnie Thomas from AIM. They are missionaries with AIM and I met them when I was working at AIM. The last time I saw them was more than a decade ago and it was very sweet of them to come over and visit with us. Thank you Sam and Bonnie! We love you, always!! If missions is something you are thinking and praying about, let me know and I will get you in touch with them! There are many opportunities available from short term to long term.
Tomorrow is picture day at baby girl’s school. Henry’s fall pictures came back today. Wow! The way they put these packages together, makes you spend so much time deciding which is the best package for moneywise. I do not want to end up with 20 wallets and one 8×10…the things we do for our kids! Hope you had an awesome Monday!
