I am thankful for my employment a.k.a. internship. This internship has been a great learning experience (a story for another day) and I am so grateful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity. Having just moved from Tennessee, I didn’t know how this was going to work out but the Lord takes care of His own.
I am thankful for my (running) Buddies!
When I signed up for the army 9 years ago, I was not a runner! I HATED running. I remember for us to pass and go for basic training, we had to run a mile in 10.30. Wow! I barely made it, I ran like a wild animal was chasing me, actually, the drill sergeant was running after us, screaming her head off. (If you did not pass that PT test, you had to go to FAT camp). It was not after I had Rehema that I started running for myself and not to pass a PT test. I was addicted from then on. Today, I am thankful for all the people who for some reason decide that walking is not enough, so they run! Y’all motivate me to keep running and I love reading or hearing your running stories. Here are a few of those friends!
I am thankful for my brother Abraham! You should visit his blog, his thoughts make for interesting reading. I love you Abraham!
Wow! I survived Black Friday, you know I get into that craziness for no reason at all, hey, I did it for my kids and got them some winter clothes. That makes it all better, right?
I began Thanksgiving by waking up early and running the Turkey Trot. This is actually the first Turkey Trot that I have ever participated in!
I took the registration for my friend and I for this race on the week of the race and but on the day of the race, when my friend went to check in, our names were no where to be found. I arrived and went to the registration table and sure enough, our registrations and others were not passed on to the race organizers. Fortunately, one of the race organizers ‘knew’ me, so she registered us and gave us ‘fake’ bibs. Over 500 people registered for the race so there were many people. I knew that this was not going to be my best 5K since I have been out running only three times since mid October but I went so as to be with my friend. It was a slow 5K alright, I even walked – sigh! but it was so amazing to see my friend finish her first 5K race!
Every Thanksgiving, I post my the ABC’s of thanksgiving and this year I am going to do it a little differently. I am going to post the ABC’s, but I am going to post a letter each day for what I am thankful for. I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving and and I am thankful for each and everyone of you who takes their time to read my blog. Blessings to you!
